REDMILK MEETS KOSTIS FOKAS, A SPECIAL PHOTOGRAPHER. DISCOVER THE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!
Light and brightness have a key role in your images. What about it?
This is because i love light and i love bright things.Light giving me the opportunity to see more clear ,to see every detail. In front of a bright light you cant hide. You can be only your self.
The male and female body are recurring themes: why?
The human body has great possibilities to take different forms ,different concepts and ideas. Through this game various questions arise and issues are being addressed like self-satisfaction and self-acceptance.That i strongly believe are two very important things people must be develop during their life. Discover and celebrate our own body.I believe the naked body conceals the absolute truth of human existence. Our body helps us to express what we feel. The most exciting of all is the similarities and the differences of bodies. We are all the same but completely different as well! We are obliged to let our bodies express themselves, to feel and connect.
The collaboration of your dream.
Guy Bourdin. He is my favorite photographer and great inspiration.
If you could invite someone from the past for dinner who would you invite and what would you ask him for?
Probably Jesus ,and i would ask him “are you Jesus for real?”
The most beautiful childhood memory.
I grow up only with my mother in my grandmothers house close to a beach.Back at the 80s my mother used to be my best friend and spending the whole day together doing whatever we want ,like kids..My childhood years and my relationship with my mother are the most memorable times for me.Specially during summer time when we used to spend the whole day at the beach together to have each other and that was enough.
Do you have any other passions?
I love music.I love to listening music whatever i do during the day and night. It is the first thing i m doing when i wake up in the morning.Giving me great inspiration,i imagine things ,i see pictures in front of my eyes, its open my mind and my emotions.
Which experience would you like to repeat again and why?
The experience i would like to live again is my first travel abroad at the age of seven when i went to Istanbul with my mother. The reason is that it was something so very new for me and exciting. My mothers country, the city she was born and live most of her life. The main reason was that i had the carelessness thirst of a child seems all so big in front of my eyes.I remember really enjoying discovering the different culture, the huge buildings ,the crowded city, the modernity and my first vinyl shops.
