How would you describe your music?
Honest, I try to make my music as real as possible, I find it impossible to write about something if I can’t feel it in that moment.
Song – Codex – Radiohead
What made you decide to become a singer and producer?
I don’t produce, I’ve tried but that baffles me. To become a singer and writer however, that started when I did a pretend band competition in secondary school. I loved the whole process and started writing a bunch my spare time. A song that inspired me when I started would have to be something by Birdy.
Birdy – Without a Word
What is the record that changed your life?
No record has changed my life if I’m honest. Maybe that’s bad, I just have a different favourite song every week. However, a record that’s always been on every one of my playlists has been Every breath you take by The Police. It’s a beautiful, beautiful song.
Every Breath You Take – The Police
What’s the relationship between your work and social media?
Social media is a brilliant platform to talk to my fans, I love hearing their stories and knowing what their favourites songs or styles are. Ofcourse, social media is also where people can find the latest music/ gigs / blog posts etc. I met a lot of my fans on the recent PVRIS UK tour supporting PVRIS.
PVRIS – Heaven
What’s your guilty pleasure? And musical guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is custard, can’t get enough of it. My musical guilty pleasure? 80s synth pop.
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – Enola Gay
What’s the song you have on repeat lately?
Hear This – Jarami
What’s the one thing you always do before a show?
Have a pint and change my outfit a few times before going for the original choice. Maybe listen to some Kaytranada a few times over.
Hot Jazzybelle – Kaytranada.
