REDMILK MEETS CALEB EVERITT, RYAN RHODES, KYLE MULLER AND MASON MCFEE. DISCOVER THE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!
How did you meet each other and why did you decide to work together?
We all met at various stages of life. Caleb and Ryan worked together at an advertising firm early on in their careers.Years later, they were both working freelance on the same projects, so they joined forces and began presenting to clients together. The work became stronger together and Land was formed. Kyle worked with Caleb and Ryan on a bar/restaurant project in 2014. After that experience, Kyle joined the studio. The fourth team member, Mason, was a long time friend and artist and joined up last year. We challenge each other to make stronger work and push forward.
The Texan soul is really present in your works, how it inspires you?
Texas is a vast, expansive land. We are inspired by that space, the breathing room, the natural beauty. The history of Texas has been sculpted by the Native Americans, Mexicans, Germans, Spanish, French and countless other cultures. If you scrape the top layer off, you can find a deeper story.
Have you ever thought about changing city? For instance, what’s your opinion about New York?
We have considered satellite studios. We are always thinking about Paris, Bali, LA, NYC, and Tokyo. For now, we hang our hat in Texas, but try to travel as much as possible.
Do you remember who was your first client of all time the time?
Land’s first client was Deus Ex Machina, and Vans. Caleb and Ryan were working separately, and were both hired for the same project. They realized this was the first chance to present as a team.
What are your next plans for your brand “House of Land”?
It’s just the beginning for House of Land, but we are currently working on new collections and trying to create timeless, artistic wearables and objects. We have many wheels in motion and we’re working with finding the right people to bring our vision into light. We are excited to continue making special pieces that celebrate art, culture and history.
Tell us a little curiosity about you.
One of us has smoked a joint with a murderer in a cave.
What’s your dream in life?
To realize and fulfill our dreams together as a studio. We also want to create and release a book of our dreams and visions.
