REDMILK LOVES OUT OF THE BOX MINDS! DISCOVER THE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH MIGUEL BECER.
1.Is there a particular person who has inspired you throughout your life? If so, who and why?
Many people, first of all, the women in my family. My mother and my grandmother. I think I have inherited from them their sense of aesthetics and love for fashion. And Katharine Hepburn, a woman who built a whole film career around her outfits.
2.What is your biggest passion and what is your dream career or goal, and do the two go hand in hand for you?
For me, my greatest wish is to have a fashion brand that builds ideas that people can appreciate. To be able to build a new fashion language, transcending clothing.
3.What place do you find the most relaxing, a place where you can recharge yourself, and gather your thoughts?
I have many favorite places but I would like to highlight a monastery in the north of Cáceres, Yuste. It is the place where Carlos V died. It is a place where you can enjoy reading, music and the local fruits from the surroundings. The best place to think about yourself and build new ideas.
4.Who or what would you say is your biggest influence?
Absolutely, the music. Beethoven (link).
5.When you get dressed in the morning or when going out, do you find yourself to be inspired by your mood or are you someone who prefers to wear a specific “uniform”?
I usually have a uniform, especially with my job as a professor at University. Something discreet that shows my ideas rather than my aesthetics. But as a designer, my look is more carefree and daring. I usually adapt the codes that fashion writes to my way of understanding the way I dress.
6.Last but not least, the typical question you might ask someone when trying to get to know them better. What’s your favorite color?
I think my favorite color is blue, in all its nuances and possibilities. It is a color that shows peace and melancholy. A serene, attractive and inspiring color.
