REDMILK LOVES OUT OF THE BOX MONDS! DISCOVER THE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH AXEL.
1.Is there a particular person who has inspired you throughout your life? If so, who, and why?
Hello hello! So here I am answering questions with depth for once. A fifteen year old me would have answers with no Gods no Master type of aggressive stuff haha…jokes aside. I never really looked up to anyone in particular,I always found people around me to be the main source of inspiration and motivation, starting from the family circle. Those are the ones who build your identity, enrich your personality and shape your creativity. In terms of career I did have the chance to meet very talented people and i perceive it’s great to observe and if something learn what is the key to their talent and they way they carry themselves in their own playground.
2.What would you say your biggest passion is, your dream career or goal, and do the two go hand in hand for you?
I definitely carried along a few passions since a was a kid, and some of them definitely became more relevant and other remained just a way to escape routines, another way to breathe haha.. I guess you can just call them hobbies. I’ve always been quite into printmaking and creating zines (whether they’d be band related or just visual experiments) as well producing as digital artwork (you can peep some of it here www.axelswanmaldini.com) that I slowly managed to turn into what I mainly do everyday, as I joined a creative agency not too long ago. I’m really grateful for it it keep me full of ideas constantly and I get to see my vision applied to a variety of projects and its definitely satisfying. On the other side I’ve always loved playing music. I’ve been in a European based punk band for the past 6 years. Actually! I you’re a fan of “wrist cutting” angry and frustrating music i’d recommend you to check out www.ojne.bandcamp.com we recently release our full length LP, and hopefully we’ll get back on tour soon.. or at least whenever i get the chance to go across the pond. I have a couple of new projects I’m working on with a few really talented fellas so I’m definitely looking forward to sharing some stuff. As a goal i’d definitely like to two to blend together and see them grow and be as cohesive as possible.
3.What place do you nd the most relaxing, a place where you can recharge yourself, and gather your thoughts?
Mmmh that’s a tough one.. I guess since I discovered CBD you can be pretty damn relaxed if not zonked anywhere you like hahah. In general I like wandering around, with no specific destination by myself maybe listening to music that’d match my feeling and thoughts. There’s one particular spot by the water over here in Brooklyn where I like to sit and enjoy a cigarette in the summer days watching the city from afar.
4.Who or what would you say is your biggest influence?
I think music is the right answer, slightly vague but it could define me in some ways for my outfit choices & some artwork I do.
5.When it is time for you to get dressed in the morning, or when going out, do you find yourself to be more inspired by your mood? Or are you someone who prefers to have a specific “uniform”?
Lately i’ve been extremely lazy so when I’m running to the studio there’s a high chance that you’ll see recycling some “grandad” outfits over and over, I like the simplicity of just a tee and cigarette cut denim with maybe a pair of trainer or a loafer. For any other occasion I like a bit of dressing up…who doesn’t like playing dress up by the way?!
6.Last but not least, the typical question you ask anyone when trying to get to know them. What’s your favorite color?
I never understood this question to be fair. Definitely amounts of BLACK to be found in my wardrobe but there’s a few others a find cheeky enough, like RED or PINK are bomb too. Not sure if thats the answer you were looking for, but this is it!
