ANTWERP’S MOMU HOSTS THE EXHIBITION “MARGIELA. THE HERMÈS YEARS” RUNNING FROM MARCH 31 TO AUGUST 27 TO HONOUR THE CAREER OF THE BELGIAN DESIGNER.
Antwerp will be hosting for the first time the Hermès collections created in the years 1997-2003, when Martin Margiela was artistic director of the Parisian house. Starting from his vision of fashion, focused on deconstruction, re-use and transformation, the exhibition will display the collections from the French fashion house and Margiela’s eponymous brand. Margiela’s passion for reusing materials, a first in 80s fashion, and his conceptual approach to the collections’ presentation, sales and communication, has changed forever the way we conceive fashion and its mechanisms. Martin Margiela has created a new vision of modern luxury based on comfort, without forgetting an understated and basic style.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm
Night opening: first Tuesday of every month, from 10am to 9pm
