MFW FALL WINTER 2017-18 – STELLA JEAN FW
If Stella Jean FW17 collection will make your mind go to endless land, rural towns and colourful matryoshkas, you’re not gone far. For next season, the designer draws inspiration just from Russia, and from the days of the Cold War – as proved by medals, badges, braidings and some military jackets –, with a collection marked by historical and cultural references. A different Russia, revisited in an ironic key and dipped in pop colours, that among prints, silk, brocade, patchwork, knitwear, fine fabrics and elaborate embroidery, still holds some folkloristic style codes of the nation, as the babushka, the scarf covering the models’ hair. The true highlights are the hand-knitted wool sweaters, embellished coloured embroideries depicting some scenes of rural life or classic iconography of the nation. The makeup explodes in fluo pale blue eyeshadows.
