MFW FALL WINTER 2017-18 – ANTONIO MARRAS FW
A show where the boundaries between a fashion show and a performance become labile. For Autumn Winter 2017, Antonio Marras start from two women, botanist Eva Mameli and dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, two separate universes that meet the definition of a strong and determined woman. Embroideries inspired by nature embellish wool sweaters, oversized jackets in pinstripes and patchwork details, and silk long-sleeved tops with oriental references. But the show is also a clear reference to the world of dance, with fluid dresses with ruffles and ethereal in draped tulle skirts. The highlight of the show is the entrance of historical model and fervent feminist Benedetta Barzini, 73 years old and a natural class, sporting a long dress with a rich flower print and bringing a plant in her arms. Sophisticated, precious and feminine, Marras’ collection transports us to a bucolic fantasy.
