THE EXHIBITION "SARAH MOON. QUI E ORA - ICI ET MAINTENANT ", CURATED BY CARLA SOZZANI, OPENS THE NEW SPACE DEDICATED TO PHOTOGRAPHY AT PALAZZETTO EUCHERIO SANVITALE, PARMA.
An unexpected and intense meeting among creative minds – a dialogue between the work of contemporary photographer Sarah Moon, French artist who has been looking into the concept of beauty and time passing, and the Renaissance frescoes and sculptures of Palazzetto Eucherio Sanvitale, set in Parma’s Parco Ducale.
Moon’s secret alphabet refers to the intimate sphere of emotions and stages an imaginary reality, filtered by memory and unconscious. Her anti-narrative language evokes moments, feelings, coincidences and beauty. Sarah Moon visions often hatch into a magical world of poetic images.
Little is known about her. She rarely speaks about herself, hidden behind her iconic hat that seems to protect her fragile and delicate shyness. Her photographs are so mysterious, always load of dramatic anxiety but yet reserved, it’s like looking at the world through a bright chink.
“I always tried to escape the coded language of glamour. What I wanted was something more intimate, the behind the scenes interested me – a diaphragm on hold before the action is fulfilled, like a slow motion … like the woman who slowly turn away”.
