TEEN BEDROOMS BY ADRIENNE SALINGER

IN 1995 ARTIST AND PHOTOGRAPHER ADRIENNE SALINGER PICTURED TEENAGERS IN THEIR BEDROOMS FOR THE BOOK "IN MY ROOM: TEENAGERS IN THEIR BEDROOMS". THE AUTHOR CREATED THIS STORY TO SHOW TEENS RAW REALITY IN CONTRAST WITH THE GLOSSY VISION THAT TV WAS SELLING AT THAT TIME

Teenagers always live their room like a shelter from the world, as a place to hide their secrets and live their passions. Each room becomes a private place where only few people are welcomed. In her two-year reportage, Salinger came in contact with adolescents who opened their doors throwing the photographer in their youth intimacy. A series with a vintage touch, which acquires a new meaning showing us trends and styles from the nineties. Every detail, poster, souvenir and clippings on the walls tell something about the inhabitant personality and about those wonderful years.

Recently, the project returned in the public eye, especially in the fashion world, where her photos were reviewed as ideal models of 90’s style, now rightfully included in the History of Costume.
