His creative work began with his first collection in 2008 thanks to Rei Kawakubo: in just seven years Gosha became undisputed synonym for contemporary fashion. Simple creations not only for young people with details that don’t go unnoticed by their desire to tell a unique story of its kind: the story of a social reality brought into the fashion system. The designer, while having a huge success, remained to create art in his place that belongs to him, the Russia underground.
He has made several collaborations in the fashion with brands Vans and Reebok and has appeared as a model during the fashion show of Vetements. The main themes of his photographic research and stylistic approach is the Russian culture of the twenty-first century, groups of young skaters and techno kids. The Gosha photographic works are real and invite us to discover a world without veils or artifice. Boys of the great metropolises of the East, young skaters full of energy that open the doors of a hidden and veiled world that has always remained in silence. Photographs that immortalize the hard and harsh reality of the youth Russian gangs.
In his creative path he has created literary works such as: “Youth Hotel” with young people of the East combined with references to the Soviet Union. His second publication was “Crimea / Kids”, in which he represented the skateboarding culture and graffiti art. Another photographic work of the designer is “from Russia with love” in which he treated the Russian culture of skateboarding and the gay rights. Facing themes sometimes deemed uncomfortable, Gosha in a few years has managed to show and bring us a unique vision where the streetwear is able to becoming a truly global language.
