What’s your coolest discovery in design right now?

I am all about mixing metals right now. I love the look of collaborating gold and silver or copper and black iron. Mixing metals and materials is both fresh, modern and eclectic.

How did this passion started and where the name of your blog comes from

I have always been drawn to interior design! When I was young, I would constantly try and decorate my parents home. It was a hobby to me, like golfing is to some. After I got married, I started working for builders in my hometown. I did everything from choosing finishes to styling model homes. After both my kids were born, I took a break and started blogging. It started as something fun and then quickly became something more. Something meaningful. It allowed me to start networking with other designers and creatives around the world. I actually don’t remember how the name Simply Grove came into being. My last name is Grove, which is a nice name to use.

What is never missing in your interior styling?

Textiles. I always use textiles and patterns, even if it’s in a simple pillow or throw blanket. Adding just a pop of texture in your space can immediately warm it up!

Interior and fashion. hiow much they get affected from each other?

Interior and fashion can go hand in hand. Fashion trends can quickly be interpreted into home design. A lot of times I will be inspired by a color or fabric that I see in a shirt or pants. I also can be inspired by a specific color of leather seen in shoes or bags.

Design in italy: what’s your favourite inspiration and brand?

When i visited Italy for the first time last year, I was inspired by a million different things! From the architecture found in the larger cities and smaller towns, to the colors found in the big cathedrals. I was also blown away by all of the gorgeous tile. Two of my many favorite tile sources are 41 Zero 42 and Listone Giordano.
