Meet the ultimate personal jewellery, The Ripley ring.
Conceived by the New York based Nikolas Gregory Studio, the idea behind this speculative accessory is to use our bodies’ ability to produce materials, dispose wastes and physically change what we ingest.
The user ingests the edible abrasives, polishing, color and the blank, unpersonalised ring. The acidic juices and the hydrochloric acid of the stomach would begin to break down the top layer of the ring exposing the jewels underneath. Throughout its journey in the human body the ring would be polished, coloured and finally expelled creating the unique and the very personal fashion accessory.
The Ripley may remain as an uncanny design idea though symbolising there is no limit to the human creativity.
