JAMIE BOWER, TRISTAN MARMONT, ROLAND JOHNSON ARE THE COUNTERFEIT. AFTER THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT SINGLE ‘COME GET SOME‘, WE CHATTED TO LONDON-BASED FRONTMAN JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER ABOUT THEIR ALBUM THROUGH THE EXCLUSIVE IMAGES SHOT BY RANKIN FOR THEIR DEBUT VIDEO!
Hello Jamie, thanks for your time. Just few quick questions for you. Who is Jamie Campbell Bower today?
Part unicorn. Part devil. He exists unknown to most. He’s found a voice. Perhaps angry. Perhaps a little broken but remains genuine. He is who he is.
Tell us about your latest music project and what it was like to work with Rankin for your video with your band Counterfeit?
Counterfeit is the realest i’ve ever been. I have nowhere to hide with this band. Its raw. I found myself struggling for purpose and had become disillusioned with life. This band picked me back up and threw me out into the world. Screaming, crying and naked and for all to see. The opportunity to work with Rankin was of course an absolute blessing. Every time i have stood in front of his camera i have felt an energy like no other. He makes me comfortable whilst still pushing me to be the best i can be. I suppose you could call it love. We didn’t want anyone but Rankin to shoot this video and we are honoured to have been able to do this.
What about to play punk rock music nowadays? How is it?
Look around you. Look at whats happening in the world. We needed an outlet. We needed to get things off our chest. We needed to be angry yet creative. This is our ethos of what it means to be a punk band. We’re just stoked to be out and about.
Thanks you, see you in Milan in January!
