Merve Özaslan is a Turkish artist born in Istanbul; graduated in 2010 at the Sinan Fine Arts University in ceramic art, she began her career designing a jewelry brand and then move on to the world of collage in 2012. Her works shows the relationship between nature and humanity. Özaslan, using vintage photographs combined to natural ones, explains how we are all part of the same environment. There is something magical in this artist that takes the present or the past reinterpreting like if it were something new. Creative works in which the black and white photograph blends with natural colored elements to create surreal and surprising stories. Visual collages of stories that are narrated in the mind of the spectator. The artist shows us with her photographs like each of us is part of a natural universe, taking on the theme of urbanization and mechanization of human beings, where colors and emotions are sometimes paralyzed from the clichés of city life.
