BRUCE WEBER LOVES NATURE AND ANIMALS AND MANAGES TO CAMOUFLAGE THE STYLE WITH THE FLORA AND THE FAUNA, OFTEN CREATING IDYLLIC IMAGES OR SITUATIONS. THE PICTURES OF MODELS AND ICONS ARE OFTEN IN BLACK AND WHITE AND THEY MERGE WITH UNCONTAMINATED FIGURES
We find images and instants in which the protagonist seems to be caught unexpectedly. Therefore the picture is unique and is able to tell us a situation, a world and a concept of style.
Icons are portrayed together with their spontaneity: from the idyllic image of Stella McCartney who has breakfast with a bird of prey to the historic picture of a very young Leonardo DiCaprio who is damned cool, with messy hair and his chin laid on a balloon with lips’ shape.
It is however the Golden Retriever, a dog breed characterized by a golden fur and a great love for water, which is the true protagonist of Weber’s pictures. The dogs are portrayed as photographers, models, welcome intruders, friends and co-protagonists in all aspects.
Nature becomes the co-protagonists of the style in all its aspects.
Weber, committed to sensitize people towards nature’s respect, shot several promotional campaign for Moncler. For the fw 2010-11, together with the brand, he supported Green Chimneys, a no-profit association for the protection of nature and animals.
Weber’s photography manages to intertwine all life forms creating a unique universe. Linking contrasting elements, his images are the unbelievable harmony which is the result of combining opposites.
