What is your connection to Berlin?

Berlin is my place of birth, and the piece of earth , which gave my parents the chance of a new life after war in Iraq. unpretentiously you fall in love with the abilty to create, characterized by the originality of thought and freedom you find here. Berlin is not vienna, roma or lissabon- although it doesnt wear cashmere-coat, but its very good-hearted.

The current project you are working on…

I am directing a theatre-piece with teens in Rostock, which i wrote this year ” Antigone has to die”. It’s about a group of young people on their path, trying to find justice and truth, while riding on a wave of vengeance. It is based on sophokles tragedy.

How would you describe your own style?

Classic shapes mixed with the feminin mediterinan style of a sicilian women. Silk, cotton, one colour-pieces.

What do you love most about your job?

Carrying a heritage of tradition in what i do is important for me. but it’s simply the profession i chose, it makes me happy.
