MIUCCIA PRADA INVESTED AGAIN INTO FEMININE CREATIVITY TO WHICH, AT THE VENICE FILM FESTIVAL, THE SECOND DAY OF SECTION “AUTHORS DAYS” IS DEDICATED
After the first eight short films among which we can find “Somebody” by Miranda July, which is a short brilliant comedy focused on a downloadable app “Somebody”, there are other two new short films by great authors, involved for the occasion into Prada’s world.
Agnes Varda, one of the main exponent of Nouvelle Vague, is born in 1928. Not only focused on films, Agnes Varda is a great visual artist.
She defines herself a feminist and with her work she wants to make art a protagonist and she wants to create a realty into real word: “The beauty of cinema is believing in what we see” says Agnes.
She has a huge consideration for Miuccia to whom she recognizes the talent and a strong personality.
“Les 3 boutons” is the tenth short film for Miu Miu Women’s Tales, shot in the south France, it has a young, fresh and spontaneous girl as the main character.
Agnes focused on details in fashion, here particularly on buttons which are all hiding something.
The other short film presented in Venice “De Djess” is by Alice Rohrwacher in which the sister Alba is the protagonist.
Thanks to the role of Divina, the director brings out an hidden face of the actress, in order to take her away from what could be a stereotype that connotes her. Divina has hysterical reactions towards the dress she has to wear, this cloth will become alive and coprotagonist of the film thanks to stop motion.
The dialogs of the entire short film are based on an invented language.
Different styles Alice and Agnes’ ones, that, together with the others ten films, define ten different women’s point of view and sensibility.
