What inspired you while designing the capsule collection for Carte Blanche?
Uhm, I would say that nature inspired me; considering it being a bunch of roses and feathers and other flowers…
A little over a year ago we interviewed you; what has happened in your life since then
Uhm, well, I went blond (laughing), but I’m going back to brown in three days, it has only been a month… and, I had a Forever21 collaboration come out. Uhm, I, oh what did I do this year!?… I drew othe pictures (smiling).
What’s your relationship with nature and what is the most amazing place you’ve seen so far?
Well, I would say where I grew up, Sun Valley Idaho. It’s really beautiful. Uhm, yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s my favourite; the nature there is phenomenal! In the summer, which is my favourite, it’s very green.
Mountains, valleys, we have the river on our backyard, wild flowers, deers, moose… insane, like, skies; where there will be raining one minute and then it’ll be sunny the next, and everything smells really good (smiling).
If you had to draw yourself, what would be your most important feature to highlight?
I have drawn myself before, hum… I don’t know… really… I don’t know, I think it’s like getting the face shape right, I guess.. uhm, maybe putting my mole in there. Or, like, my eyebrows, but sometimes my bangs cover them so you can’t really see. Not really sure (laughing)…
You have been involved in many collaborations; what is the one that still has to arrive and you most want?
Uhm, I think, you know, collaborating with anybody. I don’t know specifically any designer, I mean, I love collaborating with designers, but, If I could go outside the box I would say I’d like to do collaboration with Tim Burns – But then we are not even competing with this; it’s like a whole other world (laughing)
You have described yourself as a dyslexic and very shy girl and these facts might be the reason why you started drawing; What defeats shyness?
Uhm, by putting yourself in this situation a lot (laughing), where you have to talk to strangers all the time. You, somehow, just get over your shyness, because it’s far harder to, like, be shy and not know how to talk than it is to just talk. So, that I think defeats, you know, shyness; just talking to people, you know? It’s like exercise (laughing)
In a hypothetic re-edition , which album or book would you most like to illustrate?
Maybe… I don’t know if I want to illus… well, it’d be fun to do Alice in Wonderland, but then there is my favourite, Paul Simon. But I don’t know if I’d like to illustrate that more than just, like, put my soul into it (laughing)…
