Bergen-based Saunders Architecture designed a small garden retreat in Slåttevik, Haugesund in Norway. The 15 square-meter house includes a bed, kitchenette and a small bathroom. The owner Steinar Jørgensen wanted an outdoor space to enjoy the surrounding panorama and to have a small retreat should he and the family decides to stay over. The architect Todd Saunders worked with the premises given by the site; to preserve and leave the old plum trees undisturbed in the garden.
The wedge shaped structure and the contrasting black and white colours make the Slice House sits like a picture-perfect piece of art in the middle of nature.
