METALLIC EYESHADOWS OWN THEIR BRIGHTNESS TO A MINERAL CALLED MICA, FROM THE LATIN TERM “MICARE”, WHICH MEANS “TO SHINE”
Depending on the amount and size of the fragments, mica gives the eyes a look that goes from opalescent to a more unusual metallic shade.
To enhance the brilliance, the mica is processed along with titanium dioxide, in this way the light reflects that metallic nuance so beloved by us makeup artist.
The market today offers a variety of products, each one with a different finish: pearly, satinized, metallic.
Right now my favorite are:
NARS dual intensity eyeshadow “giove” (narscosmetics.com); Chanel Illusion d’ombre – shades: illusoire, mirifique, mirage (chanel.com); Dolce & Gabbana eyeshadow “quad femme fatale” (dolcegabbana.com) and Shiseido shimmering cream – br623 or bl722 (shiseido.it) and YSL palette lumieres 43 (yslbeautyus.com).
