GEOMETRICAL ASYMMETRY

Heohwan Simulation (hhsimulation.cafe24.com) – UK
Androgynous, delicate, intense…
A mix of cultures, political and social manifestos as well as intricate materic combinations characterise the aesthetic of Hwan Heo. The London-based Korean designer graduated in menswear from London’s Royal College of Art and in 2010 founded his womenswear line, Heohwan Simulation. Oversized silhouettes that play with asymmetrical lines, blocks of black and white, alternating with luxurious prints sum up The Critique Collection Project, a stylistic ten year study project that, season by season, explores a historical epoch or a social phenomenon from the 1920s to the 1990s. The Autumn/Winter collection, Ride the Lightning is dominated by marble prints that animate androgynous and sophisticated garments.

Fleet Ilya (fleetilya.com) – UK
Refined, functional, sculptured…
He, Ilya Fleet, has a background as a traditional saddle maker, while she, Reshna Sharma, studied graphic design at Central Saint Martins. The collaboration between the two began in 2008, in a small room in South London, and led to the Fleet Ilya brand of leather accessories. Rigorous lines, that favour the functionality of each individual creation, and hand-crafted leathers, characterise bags, belts and visors that are covertly bondage. With their parallelepipedic geometric or trapezoidal shapes and metal inserts, the clutch and shoulder bags are unique and sculptured.

Persephoni (persephoni.com) – Grecia
Geometrical, massive, unique…
Materic contrasts, architectural shapes, and an elegance with a strong impact, distinguish the creations by Persephoni.. After studying at the National School of Fine Arts in Athens and The Wimbledon School of Arts, Persephoni Giannakis created her own line of jewellery in 2011. The creative style of the Athenian designer is based on the concept of juxtaposition: alternating hard materials, like steel, mixed with the softness of leather, or contrasts between clear-cut and fluid lines, are at the heart of handcrafted necklaces, bracelets and rings made for women who love massive jewellery with character.
