Etienne Deroeux (etiennederoeux.com) – France
Delicate, luminous, understated…
The purity of shapes and the perfection of lines are the signature of French young designer Etienne Deroeux. After studying fashion at the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts and La Cambre School of Visual Arts in Brussels, he established his eponymous label in 2011. An explorer at heart, Etienne Deroeux draws inspiration from Bauhaus and architecture cultivating, season after season, a language all his own characterized by asymmetrical and graphics pieces made of fine fabrics such as Italian silks and linen. Entirely produced by experienced French couturiers in limited copies hand-numbered from 1 to 100, each garment has an apparent simplicity that obscures the technical complexity of their construction. The Spring/Summer collection is an ode to light which enlightens the pieces and dyes them with splashes of yellow, grey and pale blue for a discreet, delicate and irresistibly contemporary woman.
