Barbara Casasola (barbaracasasola.com) – Brasil
Graphic, luminous, sensual…
Elegant and polished, Barbara Casasola’s ideal woman does not flaunt her sensuality. Born in Brazil and based in London, this young designer trained at Central Saint Martins and Marangoni in Milan. Casasola, season after season, defines a new delicate aesthetic in a modern and urban way: fluid volumes, a refined mix of materials ranging from silk to georgette and crepe cady and a sophisticated sense of details. For Spring/Summer she draws inspiration from Madame Grès and ‘90s Helmut Lang creating pieces characterised by the appearance of simplicity, almost monastic, and interrupted by stapled seams and hidden pockets. The palette of skin tones is offset with summer colours such as magenta, coral, geranium and mustard.

TL-180 (tl-180.com) – Italy
Functional, rebel, romantic…
Tine grew up in Paris, Luisa in Rome, both with an innate sense of style, a deep personal and creative affinity and a huge passion for the ’60s. They met at a party in Rome in their late teens. Et voilà. After graduating in fine arts, in 2011 Antonine Peduzzi and Luisa Orsini gave birth to TL-180 a handbag label whose name is based on their initials and height. Their creative approach is inspired by the work of the German artist Anselm Kiefer: they forge, shape and create art by destroying the matter. Clutch, shopping, bucket and drum bags are created with the aim of providing handbags for every occasion. A mix of functionality, sophistication and high quality leather that, for the Spring/Summer collection, is tinged with irresistible coloured stripes, purple, orange and petroleum blue.

Amélie Pichard (ameliepichard.com) – France
Witty, timeless, surreal…
Amélie Pichard mixes inspirations from the ‘40s, heroines of David Lynch movies and Guy Bourdin’s girls with French glamour. Masculine but terribly sophisticated, dreamy but realistic, the Mod’Art graduate Amélie Pichard founded her eponymous accessories label in 2011. The shoes of this young Parisian designer evoke the past and create atmospheres: feminine shapes, subtly retro, updated by cutting-edge colours and materials such as cork or rubber-like leather. A touch of humour is the leitmotif of timeless creations, quite surreal, fitted to everyday life. Richelieu, stiletto and wedges that, season after season, are gaining the international exposure they deserve.
