What is your first thought when you wake up?
I go back to sleep for another two minutes… then I go to the bathroom and splash my face, otherwise I can’t wake up. I love sleeping!
Which food represents you?
Pasta… I adore pasta. I don’t know if it represents me, but it’s definitely the food I like most: I would always eat it. I do avoid it in the evening in the interests of a more correct diet, but I find it the simplest dish which you make just as you please: plain, with a really rich sauce, sautèed… and then, it’s true Italian excellence.
What do you do when you are happy?
Ask yourself a question and give an answer…
What is your dream, Giampi? My dream is to be able to do Vogue America, the magazine I like best in the world.
If you were a colour today, what would you be?
If I say Hollywood to you?
Friends, music, laughter… Hallowood is the name of the party I have organised for six years now with my partner Miguel. It combines Halloween and Hollywood, because the dress code for the first party we organised together specified that guests would dress up as celebrities. Since it fell during this period, we combined the two things.
What is your idea of luxury?
To be free is the ultimate luxury. I always hope that everyone can have the possibility of it. Freedom makes you calm, releases you from your obligations, distances you from prejudices and ties with things that don’t allow you to feel contented, as if they were a pact with the devil. It isn’t money, nor even other material things that are essential in order to be happy. They certainly help in life but they don’t necessarily make you free to do what you want; on the contrary, they transmit a series of fears to you, which then persecute you.
What is your lucky charm?
I don’t actually have a physical one. I think it’s my character: I’m a positive person, I like to transmit good energy and this comes back to me.
If you could learn to do anything in one second, what would you choose?
I should like to do sports like kite-surfing and extreme skiing, but I’m afraid of hurting myself, and since I need my body to work, I can’t risk injuring myself. I should like to be able to do it without there being any consequences of that kind.
What frightens you?
Nastiness, nasty people.
One ‘must have’?
A house! It is lovely when you have a house and you can furnish it as you like. I imagine that it is everyone’s dream.
What wouldn’t you ever wear?
I love fashion, so I would never say never. Maybe a long coat: for now I can’t make myself like it.
